83!

We celebrated my dads 83rd birthday last Sunday with some Chinese food at Shanghai. I hope I make it to 83! We put the camera on the Lazy Susan in the middle of the table.

Time to unite and move forward

I didn't vote for Barack Obama.

However, as John McCain put it

"Whatever our differences, we are fellow Americans"

We'll have a new president sworn-in in January, Barack Obama.

As an American, he'll be MY president.

It is time to unite and move forward.

Dogs and the Sunday newspaper

Our dog, Bonnie, has always liked to fetch. Anything. When we get home from being gone all day, she will go get something.........a ball, a toy, or even something out of the garbage can.......and bring it to us! She has retrieved the newspaper from the front porch for years. But now she gets it from the newspaper carrier directly and brings it in the house. Janet, our carrier, likes it because it saves her from having to walk all the way up to the porch. Sundays paper is a little on the heavy side, but Bonnie can handle it! Here is a video of Bonnie, Janet, and the Sunday newspaper.

Fresno State kicks one!

OK. You know I don't like it when the Fresno State Bulldog football team wins.

That being said, I was feeling a little sorry for Kevin Goessling, their kicker.

If I was him I would have just thrown in the towel a game or 2 ago! After missing as many kicks as he did, and crucial kicks, I would have just chucked it!

But I must say I was happy that he kicked a crucial (although game winning) 58 yard (Fresno State record) field goal with 2 ticks left on the clock in Logan Utah yesterday afternoon! What pressure that must have been!

Good job Kevin!

Hopefully this will be a real confidence booster for him!

I watched his interview after the game. His smile told it all!

To quote the Fresno Bee "Goessling's smile, braces and all, could have melted the Grinch."

Well it did melt me!

Again, good job Kevin!

Maybe in a few years you can kick a few for the 49ers!

Dodgers CRUSHED!

Well, the L.A. Dodgers were CRUSHED this evening 5-1 by MY Philadelphia Phillies! Yes, MY Philadelphia Phillies! WOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

As you know, I can't stand the Fresno State Bulldogs football team. I root for ANY team that plays them.

In baseball, I have two favorite teams. The San Francisco Giants and ANY team that plays the Dodgers! I can't stand the Dodgers!

The Dodgers were/are pitiful! They could only win one game out of five and were almost swept!

Oh yeah, the Dodgers beat my Cubs...........but the Fort Miller Jr. High girls softball team could beat them.......The Cubs are cursed......... So, that is no big feat!

I knew the Dodgers would lose. I knew it because a friend of mine (although a Dodger fan) put this up on her MySpace and jinxed the Dodgers! It was such a jinx, I had to screen print it and save it for just this occasion! I love it!

"World Series here we come".......ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!!!!!
I had a good laugh when I read that! I think all the Dodger fans are pretty blue tonight!
Too bad....so sad!!!!!! Not me..........I'm as happy as can be!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hawaii Warriors CRUSH Bulldogs

My Hawaii Warriors crushed the Bulldogs last night! The 21 point underdog Warriors are just better than Fresno State.

No Fresno State, no bad calls to help you out tonight!

Here are a few quotes from Coach Pat Hill from after the September 13th game with Wisconsin:

"We had some opportunities to make plays," Fresno State coach Pat Hill said. "I think Kevin Goessling is going to be a great [kicker] for us.

"I think Kevin Goessling," Hill said, "when it's all over, will be one of the best kickers that's ever gone through here.

"This game does not fall on him or any player. It was a team loss. There were so many missed opportunities."

Same old stuff, same ol' same ol'!!!! Keep runnin' your big mouth Pat Hill!

Well Fresno State, you're unranked now........just as I said you would be. No WAC titles or fancy bowl games for YOU!

Anyone, anytime, anywhere............ha ha ha that is soooooo laughable.

But do keep Kevin Goessling! He is one of the BEST! Spot on!

The fans liked him so much they were trying to get close to him.....maybe for an autograph??? Here is a quote from the Fresno Bee:

"Goessling: "There's no excuse" In the chaos and daze that followed another of those annually inexplicable Fresno State losses, Bulldog Stadium security and a few school officials flanked kicker Kevin Goessling."

Wow! This guy IS popular!

Anyone, anytime, anywhere!

How about some Wisconsin cheese to go with your whine this morning, Fresno State?

LOSERS!

Not even the referees could help you out.....incomplete pass? The missed call of the century! But, cheaters never prosper!

Uh huh. Face it, you're just not that good. All mouth and hype. Anyone? Anytime? Anywhere?

Well, the #21 rated.......(or will that be unrated!) Fresno State Bulldogs are on the losing trail now! But do keep Kevin Goessling, he's GREAT..................Ü

That's Nacho Cheese!

Well it seems last Wednesday, Karen decided to clean out the pantry. She came across a 10 pound can of nacho cheese sauce.

The can was old and kinda bulging. As she took it from the pantry to the kitchen, it exploded. She dropped it on her right little toe and broke it (her toe that is!) Now, with yellow gooey nacho cheese sauce all over the floor and her hopping around the kitchen with a broken pinky toe, she slips and her left foot goes under the refrigerator where she breaks her LEFT little toe and cuts the one next to it!

Well, she's been home for a week resting her feet.

Monday, when it was 106 degrees, she is covered up with a blanket, shivering, cold. She said her stomach has been upset for about a week. She has a low grade fever of 101.

So, after 4 or 5 days of this she decides to visit her doctor. Her doctor says she has the West Nile virus.

No, she's not going to die......but she is sick with it.

Well, they say things always come it 3's.........let's see.....2 broken toes + West Nile = 3.

Give her a call if you want to cheer her up! (559) 430-4594.

Pismo twice in a month?

Karen and I spent 10 glorious days during 2 different trips to Pismo Beach in the month of August! And what fun it was! The weather was a balmy 70 degrees during the day and down to a bone chilling 54 at night.

Last Saturday, we drove from Pismo to Cambria to see some friends of our, Joe & Vicki Herkel. They used to own Memory Lane Studios in Clovis. They "retired" in Cambria and opened a gallery! You can see it here http://www.memorylanecambria.com/

Here is a picture of Karen and Vicki at the gallery.

We left Cambria, but not before going by Nitt Witt Ridge. You've probably heard of it......but if not you can check it out here http://www.roadsideamerica.com/story/12262.
Then it was off to Morro Bay on our way back to Pismo. We had fish and chips at The Whales Tale in Morro Bay.
I can't seem to go to Morro Bay without getting a picture or 2 of those smoke stacks! I guess if I didn't aim my camera at them, I wouldn't get a picture of them!

Kathy

I had a little mini model shoot with Kathy this afternoon. Using only one light behind her. Here are a few of the pictures from this afternoon. She got a little dizzy after about the 200th image from flinging her hair around like that! But she was a trooper and kept on going! Thanks Kathy for helping me out on a new technique. You are the best!

Ahhhhh, the joys of PISMO!

Karen and I will be off to Pismo Beach in a week for a short vacation! Ah yes, Pismo, it's just like Fresno except for the cool clean air, ocean, beach, seafood, lack of traffic congestion, salt water taffy, 1200 foot pier, well you get the picture!

A friend of mine, Ron, sent me this video. It's just too good not to share!

Wild weekend

Karen and I went to the Edison Social Club installation of officers dinner and dance last Saturday night. Here are a couple movies of the festivities. We didn't stay for the dancing as we were too pooped after all the pomp and circumstance! Enjoy!

I've sunk to this.........

Welcome to the new home of Du's Digest. Yeah, I know, Du's Digest used to be a custom built, awesome site, with tons of information, pictures, and stories, and now it has sunk to this. A pre-made commercial site called BLOGGER. Oh well, it is easier..................I think! And I think it even gives you a chance to leave reader comments! It may be more than I bargained for..............your comments that is! There will be more to come as I have a LOT of catching up to do. Lots of pictures, movies, and stories to share!

But for now, here is a video of PIG DOG taken with my Canon SD750 and processed in Microsoft Movie Maker.
